NBA: Dallas Mavericks Down San Antonio Spurs; Brooklyn Nets Beat Charlotte Hornets

On Saturday, the Brooklyn Nets extended their NBA winning streak to 11 while Luka Doncic scored 51 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to their sixth consecutive victory.
In a maestro performance, Doncic had nine assists, six rebounds, four steals, and a blocked shot in the Mavericks’ 126-125 victory over San Antonio.

Doncic stated,I’m exhausted.” Our protection wasn’t perfect. There were a few stops for us at the end. In the end, we win the game overall.

The Slovenian guard, who is 23 years old, scored Dallas’ final points by making two free throws with 4.1 seconds left. He then grabbed a rebound after the Spurs’ Tre Jones missed a tying free throw attempt with 2.1 seconds left to ensure the Mavs’ victory.

Doncic, the NBA’s leading scorer, recorded his third 50-point performance in five games, and he was unable to provide an explanation for his season-high points.
Doncic said, “I don’t know.” They will double me (cover me) in some games, and they will let me run the pick and roll in others. I simply accept the coverage and proceed.

After Doncic scored 60 points in a triple-double in Tuesday’s victory over Dallas, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich made a joke that the team’s objective had been to keep Doncic to 50 points.
Dallas’ Christian Wood, who scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds, was amazed by what he thought was a Most Valuable Player performance.

It’s extraordinaryWood said. “ I’ve been in the league for seven years, but I’ve never seen anyone do what he can. He is running an incredible race. He is clearly one of the best players in the league and plays like an MVP.”

The Brooklyn Nets beat Charlotte 123-106, extending their winning streak to 11 games, led by Kyrie Irving’s 28 points and Kevin Durant’s 23.

The Nets became only the second team this season to reach 24 wins, going 24-12 and moving to second place in the Eastern Conference.
Mason Plumlee added 22 points and 10 rebounds for Charlotte, which dropped to 10-27 after the game thanks to LaMelo Ball’s 23 points and 11 assists.

On the other end of the spectrum, Detroit, the worst team in the league, defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-104 at home, handing them their sixth defeat in a row.
Bojan Bogdanovic scored 28 goals to lead the Cylinders while Anthony Edwards got 30 for a horrible reason.

Philadelphia’s victory

In Philadelphia’s 115-96 victory over Oklahoma City, Joel Embiid recorded his fifth career triple-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Shake Milton added 18 points and Tobias Harris led the Sixers with 23 points, while De’Anthony Melton scored 17 points for Philadelphia.

Miami defeated Utah 126-123 thanks to a three-pointer by Tyler Herro at the buzzer. Bam Adebayo scored 32 points to lead the Heat, while Herro scored 29 for Miami.

New York beat Houston 108-88, led by Julius Randle, who scored 35 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. This ended the Knicks’ five-game losing streak.

Cleveland Cavaliers beat Chicago 103-102, led by 23 points from Caris LeVert after DeMar DeRozan missed a last-second jumper that would have given the Bulls the victory.

The Indiana Pacers defeated the visiting Los Angeles Clippers 131-130, led by 34 points from Myles Turner and 24 from Tyrese Haliburton. The clippers were led by a game-high 45 points from Chris Paul.
